Game Overview

Constructor is a unique and darkly humorous construction and management simulation game set in a cutthroat real estate market where anything goes. As the head of a construction company, you start with a small plot of land, a team of workers, and a repairman, tasked with building housing for the lowest rung of society—slobs. From there, you expand by constructing better buildings, educating tenants, and even resorting to underhanded tactics like hiring gangsters, thieves, or unleashing disruptive tenants like hippies and ghosts on rival properties. Balancing tenant happiness, resource management, and fending off competition is key, as the Council watches your every move.

Released in 1997 for MS-DOS, Constructor stands out for its satirical take on urban development, blending strategy with chaotic sandbox gameplay. The game’s open-ended approach allows for creative (or ruthless) tactics, from sabotaging rivals to optimizing neighborhoods with schools and hospitals. Its mix of humor, strategy, and unpredictability makes it a cult classic among simulation fans.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
