Man, Contra takes me back, that classic run-and-gun arcade chaos from the '80s, now celebrating 25 years of blowing up aliens and terrorists. You’re dropped right into the jungle with a spread gun, dodging bullets and jumping over pits like it’s 1987 all over again. The controls are simple (WASD to move, J to shoot, K to jump), but good luck surviving more than five minutes on your first try. Those enemy patterns are brutal until you memorize them.
It’s the same pixel-perfect madness, just with a shiny anniversary coat of paint. And yeah, you’ll still curse when you miss a jump or get swarmed by soldiers. Some games age like fine wine, this one aged like a grenade with the pin pulled. Still awesome.
