Play Daikaijuu Monogatari Online

You recruit giant monsters for your squad—fire-breathing dinos, shell-tossing turtles—then take them through turn-based battles where laser eyes and weird skills actually matter. Feels like playing through a goofy kaiju B-movie.

Game Overview

Daikaijuu Monogatari is one of those SNES RPGs that somehow slipped under the radar—probably because it’s about giant monsters instead of the usual sword-swinging heroes. You start off recruiting a ragtag team of kaiju, and honestly, picking your first party member is harder than it should be. Do you go with the fire-breathing dinosaur or the goofy turtle with a shell attack? Both, obviously.

The battles are classic turn-based stuff, but with way more personality than most RPGs from that era. Your monsters have these weirdly specific skills—like one might shoot laser beams from its eyes while another just... rolls really fast? The dungeons are packed with little secrets, and the story’s got this cheesy charm, like an old monster movie but with more random encounters.

It’s not perfect—some of the grinding drags—but the sheer joy of watching a T-Rex duke it out with a robot dragon makes up for it. If you’re tired of the usual fantasy tropes, this one’s a blast.
