Desperado 2 came out in 1996 for MS-DOS, developed by Spellbound Entertainment. It was part of that wave of action games that really pushed what you could do with pixel art and keyboard controls before 3D took over everything. You played as a gunslinger in a world that felt dusty and dangerous, with a lot of personality packed into its sprites and environments.
You control a lone hero moving screen by screen through western towns and wilderness, clearing out bandits and completing objectives. Combat relies on quick shooting, dodging behind cover, and using dynamite when things get too crowded. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike without much warning, especially when enemies come from all sides. It feels tense and a little chaotic, like every shootout could be your last.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
