Play Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk Online
You roll this clumsy egg around a colorful world, solving puzzles with random junk in your pockets while avoiding spike pits that crack him open instantly. The gnomes are weirdly polite when you drop things on their heads.
Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Codemasters. It was one of those side-scrolling adventures that felt typical for the era, built around exploration and item puzzles rather than fast action. You guide an egg-shaped hero through a fantasy landscape that feels both cheerful and quietly dangerous.
You control Dizzy, an egg with gloves and boots, navigating screen by screen across forests, caves, and castles. Your main goal is to rescue his girlfriend Daisy by gathering items, talking to characters, and solving environmental puzzles. The game uses an inventory system where you collect objects like keys, ropes, and mushrooms, often combining them or using them in specific spots. Combat is minimal; you mostly avoid enemies or stun them with a short forward roll. The pacing is slow and thoughtful, with instant death traps keeping you cautious. It feels like patiently untangling a knot, where every small discovery adds up.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
