Play Donkey Kong Jr. Online
Scramble up vines as DK Jr., dodging birds and bugs to free your dad from Mario’s cage—one mistimed jump sends you back down. Those bouncing critters? Trick them into falling, or you’re toast.

Donkey Kong Jr. came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1982, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of the early titles that helped define the platform, arriving not long after the original Donkey Kong and offering a direct sequel that flipped the script on Mario's first big adventure.
You control Donkey Kong's son, a nimble young ape, climbing chains and vines across single-screen stages to reach the top where Mario has imprisoned your father. The main objective is to grab keys that unlock the cage holding Donkey Kong, all while avoiding enemies like snapping birds and electric sparks. Two key mechanics involve timing your jumps between moving vines and luring certain enemies into traps, such as tricking bouncing creatures into falling off platforms. The pacing is tense, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding careful observation and quick reflexes. It feels urgent and slightly frantic, especially when you misjudge a jump and plummet toward another lost life.
