Donkey Kong - Jungle Climber is one of those DS games that makes you wonder why more people don’t talk about it. You’re basically swinging and climbing through these wild jungle stages, using both screens to see what’s above and below you. The controls take a minute to get used to—you’re holding the stylus to latch onto vines and rocks—but once it clicks, it feels surprisingly smooth.
There’s something satisfying about the way DK moves, especially when you chain together swings to build momentum. Some of the later levels get pretty creative with obstacles, like rolling boulders or sneaky Kremlings trying to knock you off. And yeah, it’s got that classic Donkey Kong charm—bananas everywhere, Diddy Kong riding on your back, the occasional barrel to toss. If you liked the original DK: King of Swing on GBA, this one’s a solid upgrade.
