Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Dimps. It was a solid action game for the system, arriving when the handheld was full of licensed titles, but this one stood out for how it handled the early story arcs. It covers Goku's journey from the very beginning up through his first World Martial Arts Tournament.

You control Goku through side-scrolling beat 'em up stages, clearing screens of enemies like the Red Ribbon Army, and then the game shifts into one-on-one fighting game segments for the major boss battles. The main objective is to progress through the story, and along the way you unlock new abilities and power-ups, like the Power Pole and Flying Nimbus, which change how you navigate and fight. The pacing is brisk, with a good mix of action and exploration, though some later stages can get tough. It feels like a condensed, playable version of those original adventures.
