Play Dragon Ball Z - Bukuu Tougeki (J)(Eurasia) Online

Pick a DBZ fighter, power up mid-battle, and pull off ridiculous aerial combos—transforming actually matters here, and those wild "what if" story twists are half the fun.

Game Overview

Dragon Ball Z: Bukuu Tougeki is one of those rare GBA fighters that actually nails the feeling of DBZ battles—fast, flashy, and mostly airborne (thankfully, no sluggish ground combat here). You start off picking from the usual roster—Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo—and quickly realize each character has three power levels that change their moves and appearance. Base form Goku feels weak compared to his Super Saiyan version, which actually makes transforming mid-fight feel as hype as it should.

The story mode covers all the major DBZ arcs, but the real fun comes from the "what if?" scenarios. What if Raditz turned good? What if Cell absorbed Krillin instead of 18? Some of these are ridiculous in the best way. Between fights, you earn points to unlock extra characters, harder modes, and even weirder alternate stories. The shop system gives you a reason to keep playing after the main story wraps up.

My only gripe? Missing a few key characters like Android 17 and SSJ3 Goku. Still, for a GBA game, it’s shockingly deep—way better than it had any right to be. If you ever wanted a portable DBZ game that doesn’t feel like a compromise, this is it.
