Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension came out for the Super Nintendo in 1996, developed by TOSE and published by Bandai. It was one of the later fighting games on the system, arriving when the SNES was still holding its own against newer consoles. The game covers the Android and Cell sagas, sticking to the source material without a lot of extra fluff.
You pick a character like Goku or Vegeta and fight through a series of one-on-one battles. The main goal is to win each match and progress the story. Key mechanics include charging your ki meter to unleash super moves, like a Kamehameha or Final Flash, and executing rapid button combos for melee attacks. Matches are fast and the AI can be pretty tough, especially later on. It feels responsive and chaotic, just like a good DBZ fight should.
