DuckTales 2 came out for the NES in 1993, developed and published by Capcom. It arrived late in the console's life, a time when many players were already moving on to 16-bit systems, but it offered a polished and familiar take on the platforming adventures Scrooge McDuck was known for.
You control Scrooge, using his cane to pogo jump on enemies and bounce across gaps. Your goal is to hunt down pieces of a treasure map, which then leads you to new stages and eventually the main prize. You explore levels screen by screen, often backtracking with new items to access hidden areas; finding and spending money in Uncle Scrooge's shop unlocks useful gear like a helmet that reveals breakable blocks. The game is moderately challenging, with some precise jumps and enemy patterns to learn, but it never feels unfair. It's satisfying to master the pogo mechanics and slowly uncover every secret the stages have to offer.
