DuckTales 2 came out for the NES in 1993, developed by Capcom. It arrived late in the system's life, a follow-up to the well-regarded original that built on its foundation without reinventing the formula. You control Scrooge McDuck, exploring stages like haunted castles and icy caverns to recover pieces of a treasure map. The main goal is to find all the map fragments, then take on the final stage. Scrooge uses his cane to pogo bounce on enemies and obstacles, and he can also swing it to break blocks or hit switches. Levels are non-linear, often requiring backtracking once new abilities are found. The pacing is brisk, though some sections demand precise jumps and quick reactions. It feels satisfying to master the pogo movement and gradually unlock every hidden corner of the map.
