Dynamite Dux came out for the Sega Master System in 1989, developed and published by Sega. It was one of those late 80s arcade-style ports that felt right at home on the system, offering a straightforward, action-packed experience without much pretense. You could play it alone or with a friend, which was a nice option to have back then.

You control one of two ducks, Bin or Pin, and your goal is to rescue your kidnapped girlfriends from a gang of aggressive pigs. The game plays out screen by screen; you punch and kick your way through waves of enemies, sometimes picking up weapons like bombs or a sword to clear the area. The bosses are large and often absurd, like a sumo wrestler pig or a duck samurai, and they require pattern recognition and quick reflexes. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially when playing with two players and accidentally hitting each other with thrown items. It feels frantic and silly in a way that only older beat 'em ups can.
