Play Earl Weaver Baseball Online
You call the shots like a real manager—shifting defenses, pulling pitchers at the right moment, and watching your players actually argue with umps in those blocky graphics. Feels like a dugout crammed into your DOS machine.

Game Overview
Earl Weaver Baseball was way ahead of its time when it hit MS-DOS in '87. You could tell the devs actually cared about baseball—they spent months picking Weaver's brain during the '85 season, just to get his managerial style right in the AI. And it shows. The computer makes legit strategic calls, pulling pitchers at the right time or shifting defenses like a real dugout would.
What blew me away was how much depth they crammed into those chunky pixels. Multiple camera angles (a first for sports games back then), actual stats tracking, even little details like players arguing calls. It didn’t just feel like a sim—it felt like someone bottled the chaos of a real ballgame. EA Sports owes a lot to this one.
Weaver apparently loved working on it too. Dude would just hang in his hotel room between games anyway, so talking baseball strategy with the devs became his weird little hobby. That passion kinda bleeds through when you play.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
