Game Overview

Earth Light - Luna Strike is one of those weird, kinda clunky but weirdly charming SNES mech games. You pilot this chunky robot in turn-based battles where positioning actually matters—like, you’ve gotta think about facing and distance, not just spamming attacks. The sprites are surprisingly detailed for an obscure title, and there’s something satisfying about watching your mech lumber into place before unloading lasers on some alien thing.

At first, the controls feel stiff (typical early ‘90s mech sim vibes), but once you get the hang of shifting between movement and attack phases, it clicks. The enemy designs are wild—half of them look like rejected Gundam villains, which I mean as a compliment. Just don’t expect a deep story; the manual probably had more lore than the actual game.

If you’re into tactical mech games and don’t mind some jank, it’s a neat little time capsule.
