Game Overview
Elves '87 is one of those weird little DOS games that somehow sticks with you. You boot it up, and suddenly you're controlling this tiny elf dodging... whatever those pixel blobs are supposed to be—mushrooms? Goblins? The controls take a minute to get used to (like most games from this era), but there's something satisfying about how frantic it gets once you hit the later levels.
The colors are aggressively bright in that classic 80s way, and the soundtrack is just bleeps and bloops that somehow worm their way into your brain. I kept dying on level 3 because I kept mistiming jumps, but I couldn't stop retrying. It's got that "just one more try" magic, even if your fingers hate you afterward.
If you've got a soft spot for janky old PC games, this is a fun little time capsule. Just don't expect any hand-holding—this elf works for his paycheck.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
