Play Empire Deluxe Online
You pick a massive map, send out scouts to grab cities, then sweat as enemy tanks roll toward your borders—simple turns, tense decisions. The community-made maps and randomizer keep it fresh decades later.

Empire Deluxe was one of those games that just stuck with you—a solid turn-based strategy remake of the classic Empire, but with way more polish. You start off picking your map size (up to a massive 200x200 grid if you're feeling ambitious) and diving into either the basic mode for a chill game or the advanced version where bombers and armor units shake things up. The first few turns are all about scouting with fighters, grabbing cities, and hoping your neighbor isn’t already massing tanks at your border.
What really made it special was the community and the scenario disk—38 custom maps from legends like Will Wright (yep, that Will Wright) and other big names in gaming. The randomizer tool was a lifesaver too, since the original release weirdly didn’t have random maps. Even after it faded from official shelves, people kept playing it—half the fun was finding it on abandonware sites and realizing everyone else was still hooked too. It’s the kind of game where you lose track of time arguing with friends over whether to build another carrier or just go all-in on infantry.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
