Play Escape from Delirium Online
Navigate a surreal landscape, solve puzzles, interact with quirky characters, and find your way out of a disorienting reality in Escape from Delirium.
Escape from Delirium came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Gordon Calleja. It was one of those odd, text-heavy adventures that felt right at home on the platform, a time when games didn't need flashy graphics to build a strange and absorbing world.
You control a nameless protagonist navigating a surreal, shifting landscape, interacting with objects and characters using a limited set of verbs like take, use, and talk. The main goal is to find a way out of this disorienting reality by solving environmental puzzles, often through trial and error. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, inventory-based puzzles where items have unexpected uses, and a persistent, low-key tension as the environment warps around you. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, and the difficulty can spike without warning. It feels like untangling a knot in the dark, frustrating and satisfying in equal measure.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
