Game Overview

Konami released Escape Kids in 1991 as an arcade game, a time when competitive multiplayer titles were starting to become a bigger draw in arcades. It was a straightforward racing game, but it stood out because you weren't driving cars; you were controlling kids on foot, which gave it a different kind of chaotic energy.

You pick one of several young runners and race through short, obstacle-filled courses against other players or the computer. The main goal is simple: finish first. You can shove opponents out of your way, trip them up, and collect power-ups that appear on the track, like speed boosts or items to throw. The pacing is frantic, with constant jostling for position and very little room for error. It feels like a playground scrap turned into a high-speed competition.
