Play Face-Off - Ice Hockey Online
1989 Amiga hockey game with simple controls. Supports multiplayer matches. Features passing, shooting, and checking mechanics.

Face-Off - Ice Hockey came out for the Amiga in 1989, developed by Microïds and published by Mindscape. It was one of the early hockey titles on the platform, arriving at a time when sports simulations were starting to gain more graphical detail and smoother animation. The game didn't try to be overly complex, but it offered a solid, straightforward hockey experience that felt right at home on the Amiga.
You control a team of five skaters and a goalie, switching between players to chase the puck, pass, and shoot on net. The main goal is simple: outscore your opponent. Signature mechanics include body checking to separate players from the puck, manual goalie control for critical saves, and one-timer shots that require timing and positioning. The pacing is quick, with a focus on fast breaks and physical play, and the difficulty can be sharp against the computer or a skilled human opponent. It feels responsive and direct, letting you focus on the flow of the game rather than complicated inputs.
