Game Overview

Family Boxing: Ring Ring is one of those old-school NES boxing games where everything feels a little ridiculous in the best way. You start off as a rookie boxer trying to claw your way to the top, facing off against opponents with names like "Brown Pants" and "White Wolf"—yeah, it’s that kind of game. The first few fights feel stiff, but once you get the hang of jabs, uppercuts, and the weirdly satisfying special moves, it clicks.

Between rounds, you’re mashing buttons to recover stamina (your boxer just stands there panting dramatically), and after each win, you dump points into punch power, speed, or endurance to make your guy less of a punching bag. The real fun comes when you unlock the weirder opponents—some of these guys hit like trucks, and missing too many punches leaves your boxer wheezing like he just ran a marathon. It’s janky, but there’s something oddly charming about the way it all comes together. Two-player mode turns it into a chaotic button-mashing fest, which is where it really shines.

Just don’t forget to write down the password unless you want to start from scratch every time.
