FIFA Street 2 on the Nintendo DS came out in 2006, developed by EA Canada. It was part of that wave of sports spin-offs that tried to capture a more arcade, pick-up-and-play vibe, especially on a handheld. The DS was full of experimental stuff back then, and this was EA's take on fitting street soccer onto two screens.
You control a team of streetballers, pulling off flashy moves to humiliate opponents and score stylish goals. The main objective is to win matches by outscoring the other side, but style points matter just as much as the final tally. Signature mechanics include using the touch screen to flick and swipe the stylus for tricks, like nutmegs or rainbow flicks, and building up a GameBreaker meter to unleash unstoppable special moves. The pacing is fast, matches are short, and the difficulty can spike when the AI decides to play mean. It feels chaotic and a little janky, but pulling off a slick combo right in someone's face is stupidly satisfying.
