Play Fighter's History - Mizoguchi Kikiippatsu!! (Japan) Online
This SNES fighter speeds up the original with slicker moves and a sneaky Weak Point system—land clean hits there and watch health bars melt. Chunky ‘90s pixels, tight controls, and an AI that punishes button mashers hard.

Game Overview
Fighter’s History: Mizoguchi Kikiippatsu!! is one of those SNES games that makes you wonder how it slipped under the radar outside Japan. It’s basically the cooler, faster cousin of the original Fighter’s History—same weirdly charming roster (looking at you, Karnov clone), but now with smoother animations and this sneaky Weak Point system where landing hits in just the right spot can turn the tide of a match. Feels like a mix of Street Fighter II’s vibe and Data East’s own weird flavor.
The pixel art’s got that chunky, colorful ‘90s arcade style, and the controls are surprisingly crisp for a game this obscure. First time I played, I got wrecked by the AI because I kept button-mashing instead of actually aiming for those Weak Points. Lesson learned. Also, the soundtrack? Absolute bangers—exactly what you’d want blasting while some dude in a lion mask tries to uppercut you into next week.
Honestly, it’s a shame this never made it overseas. If you’re into retro fighters, this one’s worth digging up.
