Game Overview

Flame Storm is one of those late-era MS-DOS space shooters that somehow flew under the radar—which is a shame, because it absolutely nails that perfect balance of chaos and control. You're thrown right into the cockpit of this nimble starfighter, weaving through asteroid fields while Bratockian fighters swarm you from all sides. The first time you pull off a tight barrel roll to dodge a missile, only to counter with a well-placed plasma burst? Pure satisfaction.

It’s got that classic '90s arcade feel—chunky pixel explosions, a soundtrack that sounds like someone cranked a synth up to 11, and just enough story between missions to make you care about blowing up the next wave of enemies. The controls are snappier than the first game, too—no more fighting the keyboard to pull off quick turns. I lost a solid weekend to this back in the day, and honestly? It still holds up if you can get it running.

If you’ve got a soft spot for retro shooters or just want to see what DOS games were cooking right before 3D took over, this one’s worth dusting off.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
