Game Overview

So Ufouria - The Saga (or Hebereke if you're playing the Japanese version) is this weird little NES gem where you play as a marshmallow-man-looking dude (or a penguin, depending on your region) who wakes up in a strange world after falling into a crater with his friends. Naturally, you've gotta find them all before figuring out how to escape.

At first it feels like a typical platformer, but then you realize the whole map's open from the start - problem is, most areas are impossible to reach until you rescue your buddies. Each friend you find has their own ability: one swims, another walks on ice, someone jumps crazy high. Suddenly paths that were blocked make sense, and you're backtracking with new characters to access hidden areas. Kinda like Metroid, but with more... marshmallow men.

Combat's simple - mostly jumping on enemies or throwing their dropped projectiles - but each character gets a special weapon you'll stumble upon in secret spots. The wall-walking upgrade you find later? Game-changer. Just don't expect hand-holding; this is one of those NES-era adventures where you'll be scribbling passwords and mapping areas yourself.
