Game Overview

So Flash on the Sega Master System is this weird little tie-in to the old '90s TV show—except it came out two years after the show got axed. Classic late-to-the-party licensing. You play as Barry Allen (or maybe Wally? Honestly, the sprite’s so tiny it’s hard to tell) running through side-scrolling levels punching thugs and dodging obstacles. The speed feels kinda sluggish for a game about the fastest man alive, but there’s something charming about the janky animations and those bright, blocky Sega colors.

First level throws you right into a city at night, and you’ve got this weird punch-kick combo that never quite lands how you expect. Took me a few tries to realize you can actually build momentum if you time your jumps right—otherwise you’ll faceplant into every trash can and mailbox. The music’s got that tinny Master System vibe, all bleeps and bloops, but it weirdly fits the whole retro superhero thing.

Not gonna lie, it’s rough around the edges, but if you’re into obscure comic book games or just love the Master System’s quirks, it’s a fun curiosity. Just don’t expect the speedster fantasy the title promises.
