Game Overview

Free D.C.! came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, developed by Cineplay Interactive. It was one of those early interactive movie games that tried to blend full motion video with point and click adventure mechanics. At the time, it stood out for its ambitious use of live actors and real locations, even if the tech was still pretty rough.

You play as a human prisoner on display in a robot-controlled museum, and your goal is to solve a murder before the machines decide to scrap you. The gameplay involves exploring the museum screen by screen, collecting items, and conversing with a cast of malfunctioning and philosophical robots. You'll debate civil rights with droids, piece together clues from the environment, and make choices that affect how the story unfolds. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and some puzzles can feel obscure without a guide. It feels like being trapped inside a low-budget sci-fi film where every conversation could save your life or get you dismantled.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
