Future Wars came out in 1989 from Delphine Software International, a name that meant something if you were playing on MS-DOS back then. It was a time when adventure games were figuring out how to tell stories with limited graphics and a lot of text, and this one threw you into a time travel plot without much hand-holding. You knew you were in for something dense, something that expected you to pay attention.

You control a character sent through time to prevent a future catastrophe, interacting with environments screen by screen, picking up items, and solving inventory-based puzzles. The main objective is to navigate different eras, from prehistoric times to a dystopian future, figuring out how objects from one period affect another. Signature mechanics include detailed pixel hunting for crucial items and dialogue trees that can lock you out of progress if you choose wrong. The pacing is slow, deliberate; the difficulty comes from the sheer obscurity of some solutions and the game's refusal to explain itself. It feels like untangling a very stubborn, very quiet knot.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
