Galactix came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Software Visions. It was one of those straightforward arcade-style games that felt right at home on a PC in the early 90s, sitting alongside other simple but demanding titles that didn't need fancy graphics to hook you.

You control a small ship at the bottom of the screen, moving left and right to drop blocks that form barriers. Your goal is to trap all the aliens on screen by completely boxing them in with your blocks. The main mechanics involve careful placement of these blocks while avoiding the aliens that swarm and dive toward you; if you get cornered by your own walls, you're in serious trouble. The pace is relentless, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as more aggressive enemy patterns emerge. It feels tense and tactical, a constant balance between building your defenses and not getting trapped by them.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
