Game Overview

Game no Tatsujin is one of those weird little SNES games that makes you go "wait, how did I not know about this sooner?" It's basically a chaotic collection of micro-games—some last just a few seconds—where you might be stacking blocks, hopping over pits, or even playing a bizarre version of whack-a-mole with... vegetables? The pixel art has that perfect early-90s vibe, all bright colors and exaggerated animations.

What I love is how it keeps surprising you. Just when you think you've seen everything, it throws in something like a mini-game where you're a sumo wrestler trying not to get knocked off a platform by floating sushi. It’s ridiculous in the best way. The controls are simple (mostly just d-pad and two buttons), but some challenges will have you frantically mashing like it’s an arcade cabinet.

If you’ve got a friend around, the two-player mode turns into pure, hilarious mayhem. Whoever localized the title as "Master of Games" wasn’t kidding—you’ll feel like a legend when you finally nail that one infuriating mini-game after ten tries. A total hidden gem for anyone who misses when games didn’t need a tutorial to be fun.
