You start as a rebel soldier, slowly building an army from mercenaries to chefs—every recruit changes how wars play out. The second game’s politics hit harder, with betrayals that still sting decades later.
Game Overview
Gensou Suikoden I & II on PSP is basically the perfect way to play these two old-school RPG gems if you missed them back in the day. The first game throws you right into a rebellion against a corrupt empire, and before long you're recruiting allies left and right—some join just because you helped them out, others need serious convincing. The second one? Even better, with way more political twists and some of the best character writing in any JRPG.
What’s cool is that your choices actually matter—who you recruit changes how battles play out, and some characters even carry over if you import saves between games. The PSP version cleans up the loading times (thank god) and keeps all the weird little details intact, like cooking battles and castle-building. Just don’t expect flashy graphics—it’s all about the story and that classic Suikoden vibe.
If you’re into RPGs with actual consequences and a ton of party customization, this bundle’s a no-brainer.
