Game Overview

Gnome Alone came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Visionaires. It was one of those smaller titles that didn't get a lot of attention at the time, but it had a quiet charm that stuck with some players. The game fit right into the era of simple, focused PC games that didn't need much explanation to get into.

You control a gnome tasked with protecting a garden from various pests, like snails and thieves. The main goal is to keep your plants safe by watering them, setting traps, and scaring off intruders before they cause damage. You move screen by screen, managing your time between different tasks as threats appear from all sides. The pacing is deliberate, with moments of calm interrupted by sudden urgency, and the difficulty comes from balancing multiple priorities at once. Playing it feels like a low stakes but absorbing test of your attention.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
