Play Hannibal Online
Command Carthage's armies against Rome in this brutally tough MS-DOS strategy game—one wrong move and those pixel legions will crush your empire before you can say "Hannibal crossed the Alps."

Hannibal is a turn-based strategy game from 1994, developed by Impressions Games and released for MS-DOS. It came out during a period when complex, historically grounded strategy titles were finding a dedicated audience on PC, offering depth rather than flash. You take command of Carthage, guiding its military and political fortunes against the rising power of Rome across several decades of conflict.
You control armies, manage provinces, and navigate political events through a combination of strategic movement on a map of the Mediterranean and tactical combat resolutions. The main objective is to outmaneuver Rome militarily and economically before your resources or public support crumbles. Key mechanics include moving stacks of units across connected territories, resolving battles via dice-based combat tables, and dealing with random events that can trigger revolts or diplomatic shifts. The game is notoriously difficult; the AI is aggressive, and mistakes are costly. Playing it feels like a constant, tense calculation where every decision has weight.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
