Heat Wave is one of those late '90s MS-DOS racers that somehow makes pixelated waves feel intense. You’re not just holding down the throttle—you’re wrestling with choppy water, trying not to flip your boat on tight turns while rivals try to cut you off. The physics are just janky enough to keep things interesting (good luck recovering if you catch too much air).
It’s got that arcade vibe where every race feels like barely controlled chaos, with spray flying everywhere and the soundtrack practically yelling at you to go faster. The graphics were bright for their time, and honestly, the water still looks weirdly satisfying when you hit a wake wrong and your boat goes full dolphin mode. If you miss when racing games were more about wild reflexes than realism, this one’s a blast. Just don’t blame me when you crash into a buoy for the tenth time.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
