Hired Guns on the Amiga was one of those games that felt way ahead of its time—four-player co-op in a sci-fi tactical shooter? In 1993? Yeah, it was kind of a big deal.
You pick from a squad of mercs, each with their own weird quirks (one guy’s literally just a cyborg with a flamethrower), and then crawl through maze-like levels full of traps, mutants, and way too many doors that may or may not explode. The split-screen multiplayer was chaotic in the best way—half the fun was watching your friends walk into a hidden turret or accidentally trigger a floor trap.
It’s janky by today’s standards, but there’s still nothing quite like it. Just don’t forget to save often—those disk swaps were brutal.
