Play Hook Online
You play as a rusty Peter Pan swinging a sword through Neverland, jumping ropes and dodging pirates who faint instead of dying—classic 90s movie game weirdness.

Hook came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, published by Sony Imagesoft. It was part of that wave of movie tie-ins that felt almost obligatory on the platform, games you'd rent on a Friday hoping they'd capture some of the film's magic. This one was based on the Steven Spielberg movie, a big, loud reimagining of Peter Pan, and the game tried to channel that energy into a side-scrolling adventure.
You control Peter Banning, the grown-up Pan who has to rediscover his past. The main goal is to rescue your children from Captain Hook, which means fighting through levels filled with pirates, lost boys, and ticking crocodiles. Your primary actions are swinging a sword and jumping across platforms, screen by screen. You collect fairy dust to fly for short bursts, a crucial mechanic for reaching higher areas or avoiding pitfalls. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, with a difficulty that can feel uneven, especially during the flying sections which demand precise control. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes clunky quest through a familiar story, where success hinges on memorizing enemy patterns and platform layouts.
