Play Hook (Beta) Online
Swing your tiny sword through Neverland as Peter Pan—some stiff controls on foot, but flying sections make up for it. Surprisingly decent for a movie game, with that weirdly perfect Hook soundtrack.

Hook came out on the Super Nintendo in 1992, published by Sony Imagesoft. It was part of that wave of early 90s platformers based on movies, and it stood out mostly for its ambition and its surprisingly good music. The game captures the look of the film pretty well, with big, colorful sprites and backgrounds that feel like you're moving through a storybook.
You control Peter Pan, and your main goal is to rescue the children Captain Hook has kidnapped. You move through levels screen by screen, fighting pirates with your sword. The combat is simple but a little stiff; you just swing and hope you're lined up right. The real fun starts when you get to fly. Those sections change the pace completely, letting you swoop around and avoid obstacles. It's not an easy game, and some of the platforming can feel unfair, but finally beating a tough section gives you a real sense of accomplishment. It feels like a solid, if slightly clunky, adventure from that era.
