Game Overview

Hook_Disk2 for the Amiga is one of those rare point-and-click adventures that actually makes you feel like you're stepping into a storybook. You play as Peter Banning—who, surprise, turns out to be the grown-up Peter Pan—forced back into Neverland after Hook kidnaps his kids. The setup alone hooks you (pun intended).

The interface is classic adventure game stuff: click icons at the bottom to look, grab, talk, or combine items. At first, I kept forgetting which icon did what, but after a few minutes, it clicks (literally). The pirate vibe gives off serious Monkey Island energy, but with more flying kids and ticking crocodiles.

What I love is how the game doesn’t hold your hand—you’ll poke around, get stuck, then suddenly realize that weird trinket in your inventory fits perfectly with that broken thingamajig three screens back. And the art? Pure Amiga charm, with just enough detail to make Neverland feel alive without slowing things down.

If you miss the days when adventure games made you think (and occasionally groan at your own mistakes), this one’s a solid time capsule.
