Game Overview

I.Q Puzzle is one of those MS-DOS Classic Games releases that doesn't carry a specific publisher or developer name in its zero entry listing, but it fits right into that era of straightforward, thoughtful PC entertainment. It was the kind of game you'd find tucked between more action-heavy titles, offering a different kind of challenge for players who preferred mental tests over quick reflexes.

You don't control a character so much as you manipulate colored blocks on a grid, sliding them one at a time to recreate a target pattern shown on screen. The main objective is to clear each puzzle by matching the layout exactly, which sounds simple until the grids get larger and the moves more constrained. Signature mechanics include the limited sliding directions (often only one empty space to work with) and the way later puzzles force you to think several steps ahead just to avoid dead ends. The pacing is methodical, almost meditative at first, but the difficulty ramps up steadily, demanding serious spatial reasoning. It feels like untangling a knot in your mind, one cautious nudge at a time.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
