Game Overview

Ian Botham's Cricket came out in 1992 for MS-DOS, published by Celebrity Software International Ltd. It was one of those straightforward sports titles from the era, built for keyboard play and simple graphics, but it had a dedicated following among cricket fans who wanted something more than just arcade action.

You control the full cricket team, handling batting, bowling, and fielding directly. The main goal is to outscore your opponent or bowl them out within the allotted overs. Batting requires precise timing to connect with the ball; bowling involves selecting a type of delivery and aiming its trajectory manually. Fielding is not automated, so you must move players into position to stop boundaries or attempt run-outs. The pacing is deliberate, echoing the sport's strategic nature, and the difficulty can be steep against tougher teams. It feels satisfying when you finally time a shot perfectly and watch it race to the boundary.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
