Impossible Mission 2 came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Epyx. It was a sequel to the original, and it fit right in with the kind of puzzle platformers that were popular on computers at the time, games that demanded patience and precision over pure speed or action.
You control a spy infiltrating a villain's fortress, moving screen by screen through a grid of rooms. Your goal is to assemble a password by collecting letter fragments scattered around the complex. You'll hack computer terminals to disable security systems, avoid patrolling robots that can kill on contact, and navigate rooms filled with moving platforms and deadly pits. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense, as you plan each move carefully to avoid alerting enemies or falling into traps. It feels like a high stakes game of hide and seek where one wrong step means starting over.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
