Game Overview
Man, Jackal on MS-DOS—what a throwback. You hop into this little jeep loaded with guns, and suddenly you're weaving through enemy camps like some kind of Rambo-meets-Mad Max situation. The first time I played, I crashed into like three tanks before realizing you can actually dodge them if you're not reckless (which, let's be honest, is half the fun).
The pixel explosions still look weirdly satisfying, and that machine gun sound? Pure 8-bit serotonin. Rescuing POWs feels oddly heroic for a game where you mostly just ram into things. And those weapon upgrades—nothing beats finally getting the spread shot and turning into an unstoppable bullet storm.
It’s one of those games where you die a lot at first, then suddenly everything clicks and you’re sliding past turrets like a pro. Still holds up if you can handle the old-school difficulty.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
