James Pond slides and stretches through wild upside-down stages, building momentum until you're flinging him across gaps like a rubbery pinball. The levels twist and flip when you least expect it—just try not to get dizzy.
James Pond 3 is basically what happens if you take the wobbly, bouncy physics of Robocod and crank the speed up way higher. You still play as that stretchy secret agent fish, but now he’s zipping through levels with this weird momentum—like if you stop holding right, he’ll actually slide for a second. Feels kinda slippery at first, but once you get used to it, pulling off these long jumps between platforms is weirdly satisfying.
It’s got that Super Mario World thing where levels branch off in different directions, so you’re always poking around for hidden exits or alternate paths. Some of the later stages get seriously chaotic, with conveyor belts and gravity switches that’ll flip the whole screen upside down. Definitely one of those "mess around and see what happens" platformers.
Also, the soundtrack slaps—there’s this one underwater level with a bassline that’s been stuck in my head since 1993.
