Play James Pond 3 - Operation Starfish on Snes Online
You play as a stretchy fish spy flinging yourself through space—bouncing off walls, dodging angry starfish, and occasionally landing in weird mini-games that feel like someone’s inside joke. The controls are janky but weirdly satisfying once you get the hang of slingshotting everywhere.
James Pond 3: Operation Starfish is that weird, wonderful SNES sequel where our stretchy fish spy ditches the ocean for space. You’re basically a rubbery secret agent bouncing between planets, slingshotting off walls, and occasionally getting blown up by rogue starfish (seriously, those things are everywhere).
The controls take a minute to get used to—your stretchy limbs feel janky at first, but once you figure out how to fling yourself across gaps or rebound off enemies, it clicks into this oddly satisfying rhythm. Some levels have these bizarre mini-games (one’s literally a fish-themed pinball table?), and the whole thing drips with that early ‘90s charm where nothing makes sense but everything’s grinning at you.
It’s not the tightest platformer on the SNES, but if you’re into games that don’t take themselves seriously and reward goofing around, this one’s a trip. Just don’t expect deep lore—just a fish in a spacesuit punching aliens.
