Jetstrike was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it originally came from developers at Digital Integration and was published by Empire Software. It fits right into that early 90s era of PC gaming, when flight combat sims were starting to push the limits of what a home computer could handle visually and mechanically.
You pilot a fighter jet through a series of missions, taking on enemy aircraft, ground installations, and naval targets. The main goal is to complete objectives like destroying key structures or defending friendly units, all while managing your fuel and ammunition. Signature mechanics include low-altitude canyon flying where you must dodge walls and incoming fire, switching between air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons on the fly, and executing precise bombing runs on moving targets. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is unforgiving; one wrong move can send you spiraling into the terrain. It feels tense and demanding, rewarding careful navigation and quick reflexes over brute force.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
