Joe & Mac: Tatakae Genshijin came out on the Super Nintendo in 1992, published by Data East. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that leaned into colorful, cartoonish action, standing out with its goofy prehistoric theme when many titles were still finding their footing on the console.

You control either Joe or Mac, two cavemen on a mission to rescue captured cavewomen from a rival tribe. You move screen by screen, clubbing dinosaurs and hopping on pterodactyls that carry you awkwardly across gaps. The game throws enemies constantly, and the pacing stays brisk, almost frantic, especially with two players. It feels silly and energetic, like a Saturday morning cartoon you can actually play.
