Game Overview
John Madden Football '93 - Championship Edition is basically the same classic Genesis football game, but with a killer twist: instead of just the '93 rosters, you get 38 of the greatest NFL teams from 1966 through 1991. Imagine lining up the '85 Bears against the '72 Dolphins, or watching Joe Montana's '89 49ers try to outgun the Steel Curtain Steelers from '78. There's even two special "Madden Greats" squads thrown in for good measure.
Funny thing—this version was originally a Blockbuster rental exclusive, so unless you were lucky enough to snag a copy back in the day, you probably missed out. Now it's just this weird little time capsule of football history, frozen in 16-bit glory. The gameplay's as chunky and satisfying as ever, but with way more legendary teams to pit against each other.
