Jungledyret, also known as Jungle Jack, came out in 1997 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by NEON Software. It was one of those late-era DOS platformers that tried to squeeze a bit more life out of the aging system, offering colorful graphics and a cartoonish style that felt familiar to anyone who grew up with European animation of the time.
You control Hugo, a lanky, good-natured ape trying to escape bounty hunters and make his way home. You collect bananas for points and extra lives, while navigating screen-by-screen platforming challenges that demand precise jumps and timing.
