Game Overview

Jurassic Park III: Ushinawareta Idenshi on the GBA is way better than most movie tie-ins have any right to be. You start off as Dr. Alan Grant—because of course you do—but pretty soon you're also controlling this other guy with a shady past, and the game keeps switching between them. At first, I thought it was just another run-and-gun, but then I got stuck in this section where I had to lure raptors into traps while scavenging for medkits, and suddenly it clicked: this thing has layers.

The pixel art nails that Jurassic Park vibe—steamy jungles, flickering flashlights, and dinosaurs that actually feel dangerous. The Spinosaurus is terrifying when it crashes through the scenery, and yeah, the raptors are as cheap as you'd expect. But what surprised me was the RPG stuff—upgrading weapons, managing limited ammo, even some light puzzle-solving between shootouts. It’s not perfect (the platforming can be janky), but for a GBA game based on a movie, it’s shockingly tense and replayable. Just don’t expect to sleep well after those night missions.
