Game Overview

Kamen Rider on SNES is basically what happens when you take a Saturday morning tokusatsu show and cram it into a 16-bit beat-'em-up. You start off punching through waves of goons—some look like discount Power Rangers villains, others are just guys in weird helmets—and it feels like playing an episode of the old TV series, complete with that satisfyingly chunky pixel art.

The Rider Kick is obviously the star move here—hold down, then up + attack, and boom, enemy goes flying. Took me a few tries to nail the timing, but once you get it, you’ll spam it like crazy. There’s something weirdly satisfying about the way the screen shakes when you land it.

It’s not the deepest fighter out there, but the energy is infectious. The music’s got that classic SNES synth-rock vibe, and the sprites are way more detailed than they needed to be—like, you can see the little folds in the Rider’s suit. If you ever rented random action games as a kid and just mashed buttons until the credits rolled, this one’s right in that sweet spot.
